About the Colebrook Land Conservancy

Our Mission

Preserve and conserve the special and unique characteristics of Colebrook—rural, historic and scenic—using accepted land conservation techniques and education in cooperation with the Town, the community and other groups.

Organized in 1986, The Colebrook Land Conservancy, Inc. is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the preservation of Colebrook’s rural character through the conservation of its natural resources. The Conservancy protects 1,453 acres of woodlands, wetlands, and scenic roadsides, as well as the historic Hale Farm.

An important part of the Conservancy’s mission is fostering an appreciation of the environment. To that end, we sponsor a variety of educational and recreational activities throughout the year. We also invite you to visit our three hiking trails that explore the woodlands, wetlands, and history of Colebrook.
